Tampa divorce, family law attorney Vanessa C FernandezVanessa has resided in the Tampa Bay area since her early childhood. She is first generation American and fluent in Spanish. Throughout high school, she volunteered and worked at summer camps and was intrigued by different family dynamics. Vanessa desired to go to law school and use her degree to help families. This led to her passion and desire to work in Family Law.

At the university of Florida she graduated with a Bachelors of Science of Family Youth and Community Sciences (FYCS), summarized cum laude and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminology, cum laude.  In her undergraduate career, she was involved in various leadership positions with the Pre-Legal Honor Society and the FYCS club. Both of these endeavors included community outreach with organizations focused on children and families.

 

Vanessa graduated from the University of Levin College of Law with her Juris Doctorate and was admitted into the Florida Bar in 2021. During that time, Vanessa was president of the Law Association for Women, General Editor for the Journal of Law and public policy and student attorney with the Intimate Partner Violence Clinic. She was able to present in court as a student and work with clients to prepare for injunction return hearings. Vanessa obtained the highest grade in this class.

Vanessa’s experienced and her passions, led her to exclusively practice in marital and family law since 2021. She acknowledges and understands the uncertainty during dissolution of marriage and paternity cases and believes in doing what’s best for her clients whether that means going to court to litigate an issue or resolving their matter outside of court.

On her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.
